Leaves

Brody is such a good helper. He helped me rake the leaves up and put them in bags. We only got part of the lawn done because it was getting too cold. He was so cute laying in the leaf pile and throwing them around. I'll have to add more pictures to this later, the blogspot is having difficulties downloading right now. I'll edit this a little bit later!

Standing Up!!

I finally got a good picture of Brody standing up. He is such a little monkey, whenever he sees the camera come out, he is down on the ground crawling toward it. I had cut him some little apple pieces and he was sitting in the laundry basket (of course) eating them and then he stood up with the bowl and was walking toward me to share.

Cookie Monster

After dinner one night, I made Brody a graham cracker cookie with frosting in the middle. He was so funny! He made such a mess, but had a great time figuring out how to get the graham crackers apart to lick the frosting inside!

Happy Halloween!

Brody was a zebra for Halloween. He looked so cute. He got dressed up at school and had his picture's taken with his little friends. Then we went to my nieces school and he watched her school parade. He loved all the kids dressed in their costumes, he thought that was pretty exciting and tried to get down and crawl around after them. Later, we went to my mom's house and we took picture's of him in his costume and of my nieces. We tried to get all of them together but he was not happy about wearing his costume again. Jer got him to smile a little bit by throwing him in the air, but we only tortured him for a little while and he was much happier with the costume off. After that, he helped Jer carve a pumpkin out. He liked playing with the insides and squishing them in his hands. We retired early and was in bed by 8:30. We are not big party animals.

Driving the Laundry Basket

Brody loves to play in the laundry basket. So he crawls in there and I was pushing him around the house in it. He was stearing with his little stearing wheel that makes noises and beeps and sings. He was having a blast. I put the conductor's hat on him so he looked official. I had to push him around the house forever before he finally got tired of it. I was glad he was done because he wore me out!

Brody's First Haircut

My Aunt Denise came down to cut my mom's hair, so while she was here I had her give Brody his first haircut too. He was such a good boy and held really still for her. He looked so much older after the haircut, it's amazing how just snipping a few hairs made him go from a baby to a little boy. He held the brush while he was getting his haircut and wanted to try to help by brush his hair and my hair. He is quite the helper. He got a bit scared when she went to use the clippers in the back but got over it pretty quickly. The final results looked good. After his haircut he played with my dad for a little while and then we went home and showed dad. It's only been 2 weeks since his haircut and he is already ready for another one.

Jer's Deer

Jer went hunting this year and was able to get a pretty nice little buck. This is a picture of him with his buck and his trusty hunting rifle.

Our Family

Brody was walking around in his little underwear one evening and so we tried to get some pictures of him walking. He had just started to walk and so we were trying to catch it. Everytime he saw the camera he would crawl or sit down so we never really got him walking. Doesn't he look so cute in his little orange cap? He wears it all the time and looks like a little hunter. Anyway there is one picture here where I tried to get him to stand and as you can see he just goes right into the sitting position. What a goof.

My 1st Birthday party

My first birthday came quicker than mom and dad was ready for. We had a BBQ on the patio with our family. Lot's of people were able to come. It got cold outside quick so we didn't stay out too long, and we were lucky that we didn't wait until the weekend because it snowed that Saturday and knocked powerlines and tree branches down.

Jer cooked hamburgers for everyone with the help of Brody and I made salads and ordered a cake. I ordered the cake from Coldstone and they were able to decorate it with Madagascar animals - Brody loved it, he still has the little animals and he takes them in the bathtub with him everynight. He didn't do a very good job of blowing out the candle though. He did have fun eating his cake and got orange and red frosting all over everything.

Our friends came over with their son and little girl Emerson. Emerson is 5 months younger than Brody and he just loves her. Everytime he sees her he gets so excited and points and waves and wants to give her loves. We went camping with them this summer and have some good pictures of them holding hands and sitting in Brody's little swimming pool.

Brody did a pretty good job of opening his gifts, although I had to help. He was only interested until he got a cool toy and then he wanted to play and not open anymore gifts. He got so many toys he didn't know what to do and he just kept looking around like he was wondering where to start. Jer put together all the toys that evening and the living room had enough boxes and wrapping and toys - it looked like Christmas for 4 kids!! Brody was a big boy and I had him help me the Thank You cards and made sure to send everybody a note. He did a pretty good job writing in the card. It took awhile though because he only wanted to do two a night and then he would get bored. We finally managed to get all of them mailed out though. Brody had a great birthday.
