I'm Getting Big
It seems like just yesterday that Brody was born. This first year has gone by so fast. I swear that he grows bigger everyday and learns something new just as fast. I have been so worried that I will miss him doing something new while I am at school, and Jer feels the same way while he is at work. It has grown harder and harder to leave him and go. This last weekend he stood up and took his first steps with the help of his John Deere tractor. We both felt so excited to see him take his first steps. I will have to get those pictures downloaded and posted soon. He is getting better and better at standing up and balancing by himself while he claps his hands. He is just getting too big too fast, but we are enjoying every minute of it, even though in the same thought we think it would be nice if he it could just go a bit slower. Ha-Ha.
These pictures show his sharp little teeth pretty good. He chews on everything he can get his hands on, he was chewing on a piece of dog food the other day! I definitely have to keep an eye on him!!!

Making Cookies With Mom
Brody is always so helpful. He loves to do whatever I am doing. He helps me do schoolwork, he helps me on the computer, when I am cooking dinner, when I am doing dishes, whatever it is he is right there trying to help me. So these are pictures of him helping me make Jer cookies one night. He had a spoon and help to stir and mix and everything. He made really good cookies for his first time.
Outside
These are just some pictures from outside. Brody had a stick in his hand he kept shaking and it was so cute. Of course, as soon as I brought the camera out he decided he needed to come and investigate what that was all about. The other picture in the suburban is when Jer took him for a ride down by the river when I was at work one day. Brody thinks he is such a big boy. He likes to sit behind the steering wheel and pretend to drive. If the radio is on, he will stand and bounce at the steering wheel. I have been looking for a steering wheel toy to put on his carseat so he can "drive" when he is in the car but so far I haven't found what I have been looking for.
Goose Blind
Jeremy bought a new blind for goose hunting this year. Brody had a good time playing in it. I had some pictures with him and Jer but for some reason they didn't come up. I will have to try to get them up again to post. Anyway, he is getting big too fast. He has his own duck call and he tries to practice with Jer, mostly he just chews on it. He has three teeth on top and three on bottom and is cutting three more it looks like.

JUST BORN - SEPTEMBER 27, 2006
I am trying to post some older pictures to this so you can see how much Brody has grown. It all has went by so fast, it's hard to believe that he will be having a birthday so soon. Anyway, here is the story of when Brody was born. The day before, on the 26th, I went in for a check-up. The doctor thought that he felt a butt and not a head down where it was suppose to be. So after checking with an ultrasound we talked about our options. We decided that the next day, the doctor would try to turn Brody, and if it was successful, they would induce labor and I would have Brody, and if it was unsuccessful, then I would have to go ahead and have a C-section. We went home and Jer asked what I would like to do that evening. I said, "Let's go for a boat ride!" So we loaded up and went for a ride by Tildon Bridge. It was gorgeous. Then we went out and had a nice dinner since I had to be NPO for the rest of the night until after I had had the baby. The next day, Jer drove me up to the hospital. We waited for what seemed like forever until the doctor got there. They started an IV and an epidural (OUCH!) and then the doctor came in and talked with us. I gave permission for the OR crew and a couple of student nurses to come in and watch the version (where the doctor tries to turn the baby). My mom was also in the room with us. I didn't watch this part, it's one thing to watch cool things on someone else but an altogether different matter when it is me. So, as I closed my eyes, the doctor tried three times to get the baby turned. He did this by lifting up on the baby's little bum and trying to get it out of my pelvis and turn it so the head was pointing down. It's like he is kneading dough but instead of dough he is messing around with my belly. I guess you could see the baby's bum lift up and everything. Everytime the doctor would turn the baby around, he would just flip right back around, slo after three attempts, he said that it was time to go for a C- section. So they handed Jer a pair of scrubs to put on, my mom and Grandma Pascoe went to wait in the waiting room, and I got wheeled to the OR. I didn't get to see any of this part of it, but watching Jer's face was pretty fun. He was wearing a mask so all I saw was his eyes. They anesthiologist asked Jer if he wanted to watch, which he did, so he stood up and peeked over the drape as the baby was born. I was watching him and he get's this questioning look on his face as the doctor is pulling the baby out, then his eyes squint with happiness and I know he has a huge smile on his face. The nurse says, "What a beautiful baby boy!" And I said, "What?!? Are you joking? We're suppose to be having a girl!" Jer is laughing at this time. The doctor lifts the baby over the drape and he is so beautiful. They weren't joking, it really was a baby boy! The nursery nurses take him and over and I watch as they clean him up and weigh and measure and do all that fun stuff. Then they bring him over to me to see again before they take him and Jer to the nursery. We were both so suprised to have had a boy, but so happy because our baby was finally here and he was healthy and had all 10 fingers and toes. I went to recovery and it was about an hour before I got to my room where Jer was waiting with my mom, Grandma Pascoe, my sister Sarah and our good friend Jared. Jer had held the baby the entire time and hadn't let anyone else hold him until I got there and got to hold him. He had been awake most of the time Jer had him and just looked around. When Jer put him on my tummy, I of course unwrapped his little blanket and looked at his cute little toes. He just looked at me right back. I remember being so surprised that he seemed so aware after only being born for an hour or so. What a sweet little baby, I was already in love. And so was dad. Jer slept in the recliner chair that night with the baby and gave him to me only when he wanted to eat. Jer called and let everyone know that we had had a beautiful baby boy, instead of a baby girl and I was so thankful for our friends and family who came up to see us and brought up little blue clothes so that he wouldn't have to go home in the pink pajamas that I had brought up. We decided on a name the next day and decided he would be named Brody Ray, and went home on the 29th. Brody is going to have such a great story to tell about himself one day.
