First Boat Ride

Peas & Potatoes

Grandma Lewis brought over some Peas & Potatoes with Carrots fresh from their garden on July 5th. They were so good! It was very nice of her to think of us. Jeremy is always talking about peas & potatoes, it's his favorite. It looks like it will be Brody's favorite too. Brody got really impatient waiting for me to give him bites so he grabbed the bowl and was trying his hardest to get some on his spoon and make it to his mouth. He eats fine grabbing things with his fingers, but this was the first time he tried to eat using his spoon like a big boy. It took him a little bit to get a bite, but finally, success!!

4th of July

On the 4th of July, Jer decided to do some yard work and brought the backhoe home. Brody had a great time helping dad drive and haul trash to the dumpster. He was pressing buttons and trying to steer. It was a blast to watch him play in it. He has already learned the truck sounds and sits there and pushes his little tractor along the floor going "Mmmmmm, Mmmmmmm." It is pretty cute. A couple of days earlier I had taken him to my parent's house to watch some fireworks with my nephew who was here from Nampa. Brody watched them with a painfully bored expression on his face. He really didn't seem to care for them one way or the other unless they made that high pitch screeching noise some of them make. Then he tried to crawl up my chest and hide in my hair. We really didn't do much for the holiday. Mostly stayed at home and tried to stay cool. Had a BBQ later that evening with my family and was home and getting ready for bed before the fireworks had even started. We are so boring sometimes. It is hard to stay up late though when you have to wake up so early. Especially for Jer who has to get up about 5:00 every morning. The only nights I stay up late are those nights when I have to work.

Laundry Basket

Brody is always such a big helper when I am doing housework. His favorite is when I fold laundry. He likes to pull the laundry out of the basket and throw it on the floor. He thinks it is hilarious when I throw something over his head and play peek-a-boo. But his favorite is playing in the laundry basket. So now, whenever I do laundry, I dump it all out on the couch and put a towel or blanket in the bottom and throw him in with a couple of toys. He will sit in it for a while. So on chore day, he sits in the laundry basket and I push him around the house from room to room so he can play while I do the chores.

Fish!

Jeremy went fishing with a friend and they caught a ton of fish. Between the two of them they caught like 25 bass. He brought only 2 home and the rest were released. Brody thought they were pretty cool. Hopefully he likes fishing as much as his dad. I am sure he will be a mighty little fisherman!
